Before you moved to Chicago, you worked in Las Vegas, installing sod for golf courses. Why did you leave Nevada to come here?
I moved to Chicago because most of my family – my brothers, uncles, cousins, and nephews – were all living here. These are the people who had taught me everything I know about landscaping. Also, there was more demand for landscape tradesmen in Chicago, and better-paying jobs, so I came to try my luck and put in a lot of hard work.
What do you like best about living in Chicago?
Chicago is one of the best Latino communities in the world! I love living here because of its incredible parks, diversity of food, beaches, spas, trails, and lots of fun. And at the same time, there are so many opportunities to get ahead in what you do best.
What do you enjoy doing most during your leisure time, when you are not working?
I enjoy playing soccer, hiking and swimming in the lake.
